With Eid this weekend, it’s always a difficult choice deciding what to wear. Needless to say, long dresses are still in fashion and thank God! Not only do they look fashionable, but I always find them to be so elegant, sophisticated and add a classy touch to any occasion.
This outfit is a printed Abaya by a Yorkshire based company ‘My Anaya’, but I have styled it in a number of ways. This is because I think it is so versatile as it can be worn both as a dress or Abaya. It has a soft under-layer which is covered with chiffon and this elongates the style so it sits well with no creases. The top is adorned with a brocade style print and it has cuffed sleeves which gives it a very regal twist. Not only is it stunning but also very lightweight. I paired it with a dusky pink Hijab and nude/pink heels to give it a softer touch, as pink and grey compliment each other very well.
Combining modesty, style, practicality and comfort, ‘My Anaya’ aims to balances the traditional wear through transitional pieces and a unique contemporary aesthetic.
It prides itself in designing with the needs of the modern Muslim woman in mind, with a concept of supporting its customers’ ‘everyday lifestyle – helping you achieve a refined work to weekend wardrobe that will leave you feeling effortless for every occasion’

My Anaya also specialise in their own perfume range (all designer alternatives and which only use halal ingredients) – they have a varied and distinct range of scents. My absolute favourites are AW4 and AW Spring, both fresh smells with a crisp and clear undertone. I gave AW1 to my mum to test as it’s a slightly more mature Oud style scent with Arabian undertones. These would definitely make excellent Eid gifts!
In the special event of Eid, My Anaya will be collaborating with Hijablicious to give away two prizes, the first prize will be for the ‘Damask Abaya‘ and the second will be for the entire range of ‘Anaya Perfumes’ (8 in total)! For a chance to win one of these fantastic prizes all you have to do is like this post at the top and then head over to My Anaya’s Facebook page and click like!! The competition closes on October 18th. Good luck!
