Haute Arabia High Tea

By Samia — March 03, 2014

Many apologies for the late post- Hijablicious has been offline due to personal reasons but now is back!

Let me start off by saying what a fantastic event.

From the setting, the company, the designers and the food, Haute Arabia 2014 was a great night out.

Hijablicious were kindly invited by Haute Arabia to attend this year’s events which showcased a number of designers from the UK and Middle East, namely Chenille Boutique, Fabulosity, Dar Naseem Alandalos, Toby by Hateem Alakheel amongst others, not to mention the closing star of the show, the famous Dian Pelangi of Indonesia.

Haute Arabia was more than just a fashion show. The afternoon tea setting whilst watching the fashion show sipping Earl Grey and eating freshly baked scones and macaroons in the shape of handbags was every fashionistas ideal way of spending a Friday night, a great touch and a very different twist to the usual fashion events where food is served late or after the event.

The room was filled with designers, bloggers, architects, doctors, editors and buyers- all with a love of fashion in common.

It was great to see how far the Abaya has come. There’s a subconscious stigma in the west that the Abayah is boring, but you only need to sit at such an event to see the sheer love, class and sophistication that has been put into designing these eye-catching creations to know that the Abaya is still going strong and making an even bolder statement then ever.

Here are some pictures from the event.
