The Clarisonic range has taken the skin care industry by storm in recent years. It is based on a mechanic brush and a sonic frequency of 300 movements per second claiming to remove significantly more dirt without the need of an abrasive cleanser.
On my quest to “perfect” everything, I found myself umming and ahhing over whether I should spend £120.00 on a face-cleansing item. I opted for the Mia as it was the cheapest of the range and also not as big as the original. With random thoughts of “I’m pretty sure an exfoliating body brush will do the same trick” after a month of looking for the cheapest, reading review after review and 100 YouTube videos later – I took the plunge and bought it.
I have been using the Mia for just over 6 weeks now and claims of removing dirt, oil and makeup more than using our hands with any cleanser alone are true! I use the Bioderma Crealine H20 for a number of things such as removing makeup, as a toner, to clean my makeup brushes and the list goes on. Personally, it has proved to be the best makeup remover and often left me feeling so happy that my face is so “clean”. So the first time I used the Mia, I had removed “all” makeup using the Bioderma and then went on to use the Clarisonic with my usual gentle cleansing foam. I was astounded by the amount of dirt/makeup on the brush. I am an exfoliating scrub addict and no amount of excessive exfoliation had given me results like this (exfoliating more than twice a week is not recommended).
My skin now feels and looks polished with my pores being less visible. I haven’t used my favorite St. Ives Apricot Scrub in 6 weeks. My cleanser has lasted me longer than usual, as I don’t need to use as much. The only drawback really is the price and that it is similar to an electronic toothbrush in that the brush head needs to be replaced every 3 months or so.
