A while back I stopped at St Pancras for a quick meeting between meetings (crazy I know). I love St Pancras and often travel via the station for work and when I have meetings in Paris. Its one of the busiest stations at times but I like the fact I can always stop by at Fortnum and Mason and it still offers a discreet and relaxing atmosphere whether it is for breakfast or tea. Unlike the flagship store in Picadilly there isn’t a huge range of food available (and no iconic Ice-cream parlour- boohoo) but their breakfast and afternoon menu is fantastic.
A TRAVELLER’S ESCAPE
This new outpost of Fortnum & Mason is a haven of tranquillity amidst the bustle of St Pancras International Station. The perfect way to begin or end your journey, or a convenient and congenial place to meet friends and colleagues, the Salon serves a varied menu of drinks, light snacks and hearty meals throughout the day. The traditional Fortnum’s Afternoon Tea is always on the menu.
We ordered Macaroons and green tea and my fellow diner opted for a coffee as it was a super quick meeting. I purchase their green tea whenever I am in the City and the Earl Gray shortbread is to die for, do try it if you are ever passing by! I also love their limited edition teas’ as as my sister was getting married I opted for one of their special ‘Wedding Breakfast ‘ blends which was initially brewed in honour the the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when they got married, my sister said it tastes amazing apparently! They also can arrange for picnic baskets for events or if your going away and need a hamper with all the bits and bobs plus cutlery, a very handy service! I also love their home ware and kitchen utensils, some are very regal and others quirky, just up my street.
