Sometimes you just want a quick but filling snack- fast food is not known for being the healthiest but its good to know that they’re are ‘healthier’ fast food options out there. Shake Shack had come to the UK many years ago but unfortunatley due to not being halal I was never able to experience it. When we visited Dubai it was one of the first places we visited!
Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. The cart was quite the success, with Shack Fans lined up daily for three summers..This modern day “roadside” burger stand serves up the most delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and more. An instant neighborhood fixture, Shake Shack welcomed people from all over the city, country and world who gathered together to enjoy fresh, simple, high-quality versions of the classics in a majestic setting. The rest, as they say, is burger history.
Yes – everything in Dubai is halal. There is a London and US Shake Shack but neither are halal.
It does what it says on the tin- burgers!!! There isn’t a massive variety in terms of what is on the menu but you have many choices in regards to the kind of burger that you ant. They have burgers, flat top dogs, fries and frozen custard on the menu.
For our burgers we chose a ‘ShackBurger’ this is the signature burger and essentially a cheeseburger topped with lettuce , tomatoes and your choice of sauce II won’t lie I wish I had ordered two!, delicious but too small and not filling enough).
My sister chose the double ‘Shackmeister’ this is again the cheeseburger but double in size and topped with shallots and sauce. This was much more filling and gave the feel of a ‘proper’ burger.
For fries we chose a combination of cheese fries and the regular fries. I know they are not the healthiest of choices but whoever invested cheese fries deserves a prize in my opinion. Just heavenly and the quality of cheese is good.
When we visited it was fairly quiet and relaxed but as the evening went on there was a rise in the number of customers many families with their children and lots of teenagers and young adults. The music was nice and edgy but not too loud and the restaurant décor was nice and modern.
Yes for sure- its one of those places which you can pop into and be assured you will get a good quality and delicious burger which won’t break the bank. A must after a night out or a midnight craving.
It’s a fairly reasonable experience- we paid £8pp
